Advanced functionality helps find objects in your route by using clever filters like "Filter Selection" or "Filter Visibility" on the assets listed.
The long awaited terrain resolution increase is finally on its way. Currently Trainz terrain is either 10m or 5m resolution. With our brand new "single-pass terrain" that offers superior performance than the existing "multi-pass terrain", ultra terrain resolution is possible without compromising on performance!
Ultra detail terrain is like building with sand as you sculpt the landscape. This is a game changer for terrain creation!
Content Creators can now choose which packages they work with in a given route so they can include or exclude packaged content. By selecting which packages are enabled, creators can be sure they are only building with that content.
MPS also supports package selection which means creators can use any of the content that is included in the packages they enable for their MPS route.
The TZARC package format will become 50% smaller in size thanks to package compression which will be introduced in an upcoming Trainz Plus build.
This means faster downloads.
Lower on-disk footprint. (Including builtin content.)
Faster loading, especially on slower drives.
DX12 is key to more advanced Trainz engine features to come in the medium to long term. We also anticipate better game performance as DirectX 12 matures.
We are switching over from OpenAL to XAudio2 which is a modern Windows audio system. This is a Microsoft (Windows platforms) only technology.
Clutter Effects has changed the way routes look on a micro detail scale but this system is just at the beginning as we have big plans for clutter.
To start with we are moving clutter to the GPU to increase performance so any clutter in your routes should start to be a lot more responsive.
